Welcome to Marine Forever Detachment
is one of over 1100 community based Marine Corps League detachments located throughout the United States and overseas. The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 by World War I Marine Hero, Major General Commandant, John A. Lejeune. The League takes equal pride in its Federal Charter approved by an Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America and signed and approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. The Marine Corps League is the only Federally Chartered Marine Corps related veteran's organization in the country.
Marine Forever Detachment #1440, Marine Corps League, Inc. was chartered by the Marine Corps League on August 16, 2016. We are registered with the State of Florida and the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit 501(c) 4 Corporation. A Veterans Organization for Active Duty and Honorably Discharged Marines and Navy F.M.F. Corpsmen and Navy FMF Chaplains who have served on active duty with America's finest fighting force,
The United States Marine Corps.
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
The Marine Forever Detachment was started in 2014 to address a desire by several local Marines to continue to serve their community.
Commandant John Utterback
John enjoys woodworking and long walks on the beach. He joined the Marines back in the 70's so he never had to cut his hair.
Senior Vice Commandant Andre Chiasson
Andre's passion for compassion is a driving force in League leadership.
Junior Vice Commandant James McNair
James is almost certainly not the worst human to ever live. Surveys are still out, but we are optimistic.
Staff Judge Advocate Lee Sudam
Lee is our resident Lawkeeper and Master of the five-minute story.
